Four Aspects of the Prayer Room

The Eastgate House of Prayer is sanctified unto the purpose of seeking the manifest Presence of the Holy Spirit within the communal gathering. As His people we all  experience two essential realities with Him - the private and the communal. We treasure our intimacies in the secret place shared with Him as well as the privilege we share as family together, and know God works powerfully in both.

At the core of the Matthias Ministries vision within EHOP is the invitation to go beyond where the time and format constraints of church allow.

Beyond the pleasures of seeking Him we enjoy as worshipers, our hope of hosting His Presence is rooted in both finding and yielding ourselves to His Purpose in His Presence.

Four Aspects of the Eastgate House of Prayer

1. The Outer Court:

This is the place outside of the Prayer Room itself, where those who visit the facility can comfortably enjoy fellowship and refreshment with others.  Fellowship within this area is often about us, our day, week, work, family, friends and perhaps the nation. It is a place where our testimonies can reach others for His purpose. The "Outer Court" is a place where the important joys of fellowship can take place allowing the Prayer Room itself to remain a place of focus solely upon Him

2. The Inner Court:

Here is where we seek the consecrated objective, hope and expectation of the Prayer Room itself. This is where our time, attention, and intention is given, not to the joy's of fellowship, but to the anticipation of His Presence. We seek to come into the "Inner Court" with the intention  of focusing upon, listening for and hearing that we may begin to discern the Spirit of God.

Whether we begin in quiet reflection and prayer or the exuberance of thanksgiving, our hope and sole desire is that our spirit would listen to and discern the Spirit of God.

The "Inner Court" is a place where the words of John "He must Increase, but I must decrease" (3:30) are meant to find resonance.

3. The Holy Place:

This is the place within the soul of the believer where, either alone or within the corporate gathering that we begin to move, declare His Word, boldly pray, prophesy the Testimonies of Jesus, and in general yield ourselves to the desire and move of the Spirit. It is here, in the midst of our gathering and in the midst of the worshipers heart, we are given to become increasingly responsive and obedient to the unction of the Holy Spirit.

The "Holy Place"  is where His people BEGIN to MOVE and FLOW in co-operation with the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

4. The Holy of Holies:

This is the place where, if possible, we would come to and never leave. It is the place only the Holy Spirit can bring us to. Moreover, it is where we endeavor to know the Purpose of his Presence in the "Holy Place" spoken of above. Here is the sanctuary within the believers heart where intimacies not unlike David's can manifest in deeper realms of worship where Deep calls out to deep. It is the place where holy tears may allow Alabaster boxes to be yielded and broken and where profound Revelation and Confirmation frees, convicts and transforms His people. It is also the place where even the most beautiful gifts brought before Him are given as true Spiritual sacrifices that never distract others from the beauty and Glory that is God's alone.

As we gather our hope is for His people to encounter intimacies knowable only within the depths of the human heart that we've likened here to the "Holy of Holies". Having already seen His faithfulness unfold in this way, our prayer is for the power of these intimate moments to touch the souls of those gathered in a way that encourages the growth of His likeness in the Body of Christ. The liberty that is already ours in Him is given, that we might answer God's invitation and know the privilege of being a part of the transformation that His desire to move through brings.
